I have a series of bar chats that allow the user to change the displayed dimension by using a drop down box. Currently each graph is sorted by the total offering in each value of the selected dimension. The users have requested that certain dimensions be sorted by the value of the dimension instead of the sum of the offering.
For instance, when looking at color, they want to see the color with the most on offer first, then the second most , etc. However, when they select a dimension that has a progressive value, such as price range or size, they want it to be sorted small, medium, large.
I have tried using Dual in order to assign a numeric value to all the possible dimensions, and it works for those which have numeric components, but for those that have to be sorted on the rank of the offering, I can't get it to work. I've also tried sorting by expression, but have not been able to get it to work at all.
Any suggestions are welcome.
