Can I use cloud-based Postgres database as repository for QDC

Hi,

I have a question about setting up a single node QDC deployment on a virtual machine running in Azure or AWS. Does the Postgres repository has to be a local database, or is it possible to configure an external cloud-based Postgres database as repository for QDC?

Thanks,

Steven

Hi @ssamuels

The answer is a qualified yes. The QDC Single Server version can be installed, in it's entirety, on an EC2 / Azure instance. That means Pg would be in the cloud, which answers your question affirmatively. That said, it's not recommended to have the QDC Server on one machine, and Pg on another. Meaning it's all on the cloud or none of it on the cloud .. for the most part.

Hope that helps.

David
