Can I use API in Qlikview to extract data?

hi,

Currently we are using ODBC connection but plans are to use API for extracting same DB.

My question is can we use API to extract data?

If yes, then what kind of connector needs to be installed?

I know we can do this in Qlik Sense but not sure if it can be done in QlikView too?

Please suggest.
