Can we just uninstall/disable Dropbox connectors from QlikSense Connectors List

Hi Team,

We have a requirement to restrict users/developers create a connection to extract data from dropbox. Is it possible to not show dropbox connector in the list? What if we delete the dropbox connector.dll from web connectors and web storage connector package ? does it impact anything on the server? Is there any config file available where we can enable or disable dropbox connectors.

Version Qliksense Enterprise May 2023.

Thanks and Regards,

Vidya S

Go to the QMC (Qlik Management Console) Security Rules.

Create a new rule (or edit an existing one) that denies access to the Dropbox connector resource.

This will hide it in the UI or prevent users from using it.

If it came from a Qlik Web Connectors package (not built-in)

Check whether Dropbox is installed via Qlik Web Connectors.

If so, you can uninstall that package through Windows “Programs & Features” or remove only the Dropbox connector folder from the Web Connectors installation.

Then restart the Qlik Sense services.

Hello! As of Qlik Sense release February 2022, the Dropbox connector (and many others) require you to generate an encryption key; only an admin can do that. Without it, no one can make new Dropbox data connections. If you have a key, just delete it.

If you have connections made before you upgraded to February 2022, they will still work, so you can just delete them from your server.

Documentation here.
