Data Segregation in Qlik (by Logged User)

Hello,

I'm going to design some reports which load data from DBs.

Any Merchant should be able to see their data only.

I'm wondering how Data Segregation works in Qlik.

Should I "simply" put id of the logged merchant (userid?) as constraint of DB queries, or does Qlik offer a more advanced Segregation mechanism?

Any link to documentation is very appreciated.
