Direct Query with SAP SQL Connector

Hello,

I'm searching for a way to realize some kind of real-time analytics. Therefore I found the combination of 'Dynamic Views' and 'Direct Query'.

In earlier versions I found out that you can only Direct Query on Snowflake and Databricks.

My aim is to establish a Direct Query on SAP. I have problems in understanding the documentation right now, because I found hints on using a Direct Query via SAP SQL Connector (https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/12.1/Subsystems/Client/Content/DirectDiscovery/data-sources-sup...).

I'm already using this connector, but don't understand how to build a Direct Query on my existing Data Connections.

I would appreciate some help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!
Unfortunately SAP SQL Connector does not natively support Direct Query/Direct Discovery. It works more like a traditional connector that extracts data from the SAP system into Qlik's memory.

An approach could be using a middleware solution that can better integrate SAP with real-time analytics. For example, connecting SAP to Snowflake or Databricks through a data pipeline (e.g., SAP HANA to Snowflake) might enable you to leverage Direct Query on those platforms for real-time analytics in Qlik.
