As the title says, Whenever we try to use ANY functionality of Qlik Mailbox IMAP Connector, we have the error "There was an error running the table (The server has closed the connection.":
Hi!
Here some checks for your situation.
-Double-check that IMAP is enabled under Gmail Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
-Gmail blocks connections from apps that are not using OAuth 2.0. Make sure you allow connections through https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps.
If the account has 2-Step Verification enabled, you'll need to generate an App Password for Qlik Mailbox IMAP Connector instead of using the regular password.
Hello Diego,
-The IMAP Isenabled on gmail
-The less secured apps allowed is active on gmail setting
-An the 2 step verification is offline.
Hi!
here are some further checks and solutions to troubleshoot the connector issue:
1. Verify IMAP Connection Outside Qlik
Use a third-party IMAP client (like Thunderbird, Outlook, or PowerShell Test-ImapConnectivity) to connect to Gmail with the same credentials and IMAP server:
Server: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993 (SSL enabled)
If the connection fails, is not Qlik, may be firewall.
2. Enable App Password
Since "Less secure apps" is enabled, but the connection still fails, Google security might still block Qlik's connection:
Generate an App Password for Qlik Mailbox IMAP Connector.
Go to: Google Security Settings > App Passwords.
Use the generated 16-character password instead of the regular password in Qlik.
Even if 2-Step Verification is OFF, sometimes Google enforces additional security measures.
Finally you could look for SSL/TLS errors in the Qlik Connector logs.
The issue could arise if the Gmail IMAP connection requires a specific TLS version:
Verify the TLS version in use by your server (must be TLS 1.2 or higher).
Check Qlik configuration to ensure it supports TLS 1.2/1.3.
