How do I refresh data that was uploaded to QlikSense from Desktop?

Hi,

My raw data was too large so I had to create a desktop app first and then import it to QlikSense. My desktop app was just the uploaded data, all charts were then created in QlikSense.  When I try to reload new data, I get the below error.  If I ever update the data, I literally have to create a new app from scratch. I am new to this, but I know that is not the way and I should be able to just hit refresh and everything should update. 

Any ideas of how I could get the app connected to the data? It is an Excel file stored on my desktop.
