Qlik Data Transfer data connection not found

I have installed Qlik Data Transfer (QDT) on my Qlik Sense on Windows instance. When I add apps to have them reloaded they all fail and say that the data connection can't be found. I use ODBC connections configured on the server as System DSNs using the same name as the data connection in the load script. I have tried setting up User DSNs and System DSNs with the same name as the data connection but none of them work. What is required for QDT to recognize the data connection as the data connection it should use?
