Qlik JIRA Web Connector

I am now using the Qlik JIRA Web Connector for the first time. I have a problem with the authentication and I thought you may help me to solve this issue.

In the Tables option, I am selecting the CanAuthenticate table, and in the Parameters section I just add the JIRA base URL (https://jira.host/jira), my JIRA ussername and my JIRA password. After that, I click on Save Inputs & Run Table and I get the following error:

authenticated: false

message "Failed on attemp 1 to GET (Error in remote server: (401) Non-authorized.)

Do you know how can I solve this problem?

I guess the Qlik JIRA connector is the recommended option to connect to JIRA. Using the general REST connector available in Qlik Sense to connect to JIRA is even more complicated, right?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @saikiranrao

What connector are you attempting to use to connect to JIRA? Is it the one in Qlik Web Connectors, or a native one included with Sense?

It was a long time that I set up JIRA for a client and as far as I know the app is just refreshing itself now with no problems (they have not told me otherwise!).

From a quick Google it looks like this is the documentation you need around getting yourself an API token:
https://support.atlassian.com/atlassian-account/docs/manage-api-tokens-for-your-atlassian-account/

Then this is how you use it for authentication:
https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/basic-auth-for-rest-apis/

It has code in there for encoding the combination of username and API key using Base64. Your best bet is probably to do that online using something like this:
https://www.base64encode.org/

There's some Qlik specific documentation here:
https://help.qlik.com/en-US/connectors/Subsystems/Web_Connectors_help/Content/Connectors_QWC/Data-So...

I note that there is an issue with non-ascii characters in passwords, so do check for those.

Hope that helps,
Steve

p.s. Once you have your Jira data you may want to put it into here to analyse it:
