Qlik ODBC MSSQL error

Hi,

I'm trying to connect from Qlik Sense Desktop to a local instance of MSSQL with the Qlik ODBC connector and getting:

Error[08S01][Simba]Connection broken

Connecting via OLEDB works seamless..

With OLEDB:

Any idea what this error means? Any workaround?

Is this a bug? Because OLEDB works well with the same configuration.

Hi, same here... OLEDB works but you have to change all connections on current dashboards when you upgrade to the november version.

We had the same problem, one day out of nowhere it stopped working.

Turned out that 1433 port to the sql server database was blocked.

After whitelist'ing the port it all started working again.

You can tell if port is blocked by using telnet command (an error will appear):

telnet <server name to the sql server> 1433
