QlikSense Desktop connection problems

Hello,

we are trying to add a data source in QlikSense Desktop by using Advantage StreamlineSQL ODBC connection.

The connection seems to work without error, but in the now appearing window in QlikSense Desktop, where we should choose data, all settings are gray and we are not able to proceed.

There is no error message and no logs to work with.

We also test other data sources like standard Maria DB database on a local server. While using the same login credentials as in our local MySQL client (where connection is successful) QlikSense Desktop shows the following error if we choose "MySQL Enterprise Edition" as source:

Error Message: Please check the values for Username, Password, Host and other properties. Description: General error

If we choose "Microsoft SQL Server" as source we get the following error:

Error Message: Please check the values for Username, Password, Host and other properties.

Is it possible to get more information why these errors are occuring? Has somebody any idea how to solve the problems?

We tested it on Microsoft Windows 8 and Microsoft Windows 10 (with QlikSense Desktop) and on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 as data source (MySQL and Advantage server).

Hi,

I have faced similar issue. It got resolved by tcpip. Checkout port 1433( port use for odbc connection) is open or not.
