We are currently exploring the Open Data Lakehouse capabilities of Talend Cloud. While creating a mirror task, we encountered the following error:
Prepare data task failed: Jobs execution failed. Job finished with error for process: "Create iceberg table for dataset 'employee'". Failed to execute SQL: Create iceberg table for dataset 'employee'. Creating a Delta-sourced table requires the BASE_LOCATION table option to be specified.
We have reviewed all documentation from Qlik and Snowflake regarding the creation of external volumes and integration with catalogs. Despite following the guidelines, we are still facing this error.
We are specifically looking for clarification on the exact path that needs to be provided in the external volume so that Snowflake can correctly read the Iceberg files created by the Open Data Lakehouse.
Hi, can you please contact support and open a ticket. This sounds like possibly an issue with the external volume or catalog integration. The volume should include the base path for your iceberg tables based on how you configured the project / glue catalog connection.
