Authentication of Non AD Users

In QMC, in user directory connectors, I have created a Excel(via ODBC). When trying to login with the user in the excel, I could not login. I'm getting an error as shown in below image

Hi, double check that the same corresponding user is created locally on the machine as well, also remember to close the excel sheet before syncing in qmc.

Hi Wynand, wynandackerman

1)  double check that the same corresponding user is created locally on the machine

same corresponding user created locally on the machine, does mean that we need to create user accounts for n number of users in excel sheet, in local machine as well?

2) excel sheet is closed, so there won't be any problem as far as syncing is concerned.

Defeats the purpose of the excel-sheet if you need to create users in the local machine anyway.

Hi Anders,

Ya that is exactly my concern.

In my setup, this was the case, created the local accounts on the server (identity management via Windows), used the excel file to specify the attributes/properties for the users (UDC's do not perform authentication)

Try it as a test, alternatively here is a thread that could provide you alternatives to identity management that does not involve creating the local accounts on the server: Password Acces for User Directory Connector (UDC) - Via Excel ODBC
