Hello,
we are trying to setup our QlikSense Enterprise instance with Client authentication link for our QlikSense Desktop clients. The configuration process is more or less clear, we enter URL and a friendly name, client receives a link successfully, etc. What baffles me are the license requirements for the user to be able to authorize against Enterprise instance. When user tries to login in their QlikSense Desktop client he gets an error:
"You cannot access the selected hub because you have no access pass."
Does the user have to have Professional license in order to access Desktop client? If not, what could be wrong?
Currently the user has Analyzer license assigned. The same user is able to access Enterprise instance via web browser without any issues.
Hi Vilius,
tricky question.
If you check the help page, it seems that the user must have a Professional license: "Make sure user access or professional access is allocated to the users.".
But if you check the License Metrics for Qlik Sense, the Analyzer user (perpetual or subscription) should also be able to authenticate to QS Desktop: "Analyzer User provides the ability to view Applications, create bookmarks, create and publish stories, print objects/stories/sheets, export data from an object to Excel or PDF, and authenticate to mobile. Analyzer Users may not use Qlik Sense for any other function, including but not limited to, create or modify Qlik Applications, create or publish new sheets, update or modify data, access My Work, or authenticate to Qlik Sense Desktop. Analyzer User perpetual licenses include access to Qlik GeoAnalytics Base, Qlik Web Connectors, and Qlik DataMarket Essentials for so long as the customer remains current on maintenance and the products are generally available. Analyzer User may be accessed and used by external third parties authorized by the customer. At least one Professional User license is required to purchase an Analyzer User."
I suggest you to open a ticket with Qlik.

Thank you Fosuzuki for the link to the license metrics PDF. I didn't find it earlier but from what it says it is clear to me now that Professional license is required to access Qlik Sense Desktop indeed:
"Analyzer Users may not use Qlik Sense for any other function, including but not limited to, create or modify Qlik Applications, create or publish new sheets, update or modify data, access My Work, or authenticate to Qlik Sense Desktop."
Wow, I actually did not read it completely, and missed the "may not" part... #facepalm
But at least you have your confirmation. 🙂
