Identify app name for a delete app

Hello,

Is there a way to find the app ID from the app name ore the other way round, if the app was previously deleted in the hub?

We have a backup of the apps folder, where we could restore the deleted app, but this folder contains only the app IDs. Since the app was deleted, I can't go to the Operations monitor or QMC and find the ID of the app I need to restore.

Is there a way to solve this?

Thanks,

Udo

I was finally able to find the connection between app ID and name in the logs as described in this article: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Knowledge/Restore-deleted-app-in-Qlik-Sense-Import-app-in-Qlik-Sense/t...

"Find the App filename

You can find the filename (APP_ID) in the AuditActivity_Engine log.
This log is by default stored in: \\<rootShare>\Log\Engine\Audit\ by default.

An example showing App id followed by App name follows:

492    20.4.2.0    20180521T180500.118+0200    QlikServer1    0ccd5e9f-e020-4b76-a84d-144bdf903765    20180521T180500.112+0200    12.145.3.0    Command=Reload app;Result=0;ResultText=Success    0    0    2290    INTERNAL    sa_scheduler    d296b870-da06-4311-bacc-038992b1c954    c047d8a7-148c-4ea6-97f2-10290e706cd7    License Monitor    Engine    Not available    Doc::DoReloadEx    Reload app    0    Success    0ccd5e9f-e020-4b76-a84d-144bdf903765"

Compare the folder contents with your live folder, it should be present in the backup but not live.
Then import the candidate and see what it is.

That's the solution I did not really want to go for... 😉
I was hoping there is a way to query the db or something in that direction.

Doubt there is anything left in the repository when you have deleted it.
Comparing the sorted filenames in backup and live you should be able to locate candidates pretty quickly unless you have tons of deleted apps. If you have make use of the the file time stamp to narrow it down.

Hey there @Udo and @anderseriksson ,

Actually there could be an easier way: in the postgreSQL repository there is a table called _deletedentitylogs, which contains a record of the main resources that have been deleted from your environment.
I wasn't able to test it in latest versions, but in the past from that table I've been able to restore connections configurations, apps and so on

I would suggest to take a look at it, and check if also in your release there are those information

I hope this helps,
Riccardo
