Login Access versus named User access if user exists in both

I currently have 12 named users allocated for User access.  I am using AD groups for the login access rules (user group="Qlik Token Users")

Since the Qlik Token Users group contains all other Qlik AD groups, the allocated named users will also inevitably fall into the "Qlik Token Users" group.  If one of those users logs in, will Qlik look first at the allocated named users list?  Or will Qlik use the "Token Users" login access rule and use up a token for the named user?

The reason I'm asking is because the License Monitor "Login access History" sheet is showing named users that have used multiple tokens in the last 28 days, notably one user has used 5 tokens and it doesn't seem like that should be possible.

I'm fairly sure the user login tokens are checked first and only then the login access tokens. I have no idea how the license monitor counts token usage. It could well count the usage of a single token in multiple sessions as separate token usages.

You're probably right.  The way it's done is a bit confusing but I don't think Qlik Sense is actually using access pass tokens when a named user logs in.  It just seems that way on the reporting.

Hi Mikegrattan,

Qlik do allocate login passes to such users who falls in login pass group but have tokens too. so what you need to do, you may use UDC, take an excel file and add your 12 tokens users and add meta data "group" with some name like "Token users" and when you write rule for login pass add one more condition != not equal to "Token users". so your 12 users will never consume any login passes
