Migration from a QlikSense Server Enterprise 10.18.2 Server (Very Old)

Hello All.

So my Problem seens unsolvable by now.

I have a 10.18.2 Server, thats was never upgraded.

I cant even find the install files for this server, to do the migration stuff (install server again, transfer the db and etc..)

Is there any workaround for this?

We have a lot of boards and streams, i`m kinda desperate.

Tnks!

Hi @guilhermematera ,

I believe you are on sync persistence. Please refer to the release notes to upgrade the server to shared persistence on the same version SR release. Once it is done upgrade the server to Year by Year and verify all the applications were migrated properly or not on each upgrade.

Note: You need to take DBbackup and applications before the upgrade. Refer to the Qlik sense help site for more details.

Hi @guilhermematera ,

@SankarReddy posted a great solution.
However, since we don't recommend upgrading directly from such an old version, and you'd need to do several stepped upgrades, check that everything works fine everytime, and so on, you should probably consider exporting the apps and reimporting them in a fresh installation of Qlik Sense Enterprise for Windows, latest version.
Yes, you'd need to recreate the streams, and users will lose their bookmarks, but it will probably be less work in the end, and also reduce the risk of things breaking up.
Or, of course, you should also consider moving to a Cloud setup instead.

Hello There!

Ok, i tried this, but the older version to download is the February 2020 and i get the message saying that it cannot be instaled in Windows Server 2008, so I cant upgrade....

I think i`m really stuck, will have to do the hard way, export one by one....

If you ask nicely support should be able to provide you with an older installation that solves your problem.
Then take it year by year to upgrade to current version.

They ARE discontinued, not available and unsupported.
That's why you have to ask nicely but they should be able to help.
