QMC Tasks Not Starting After Hitting Start Button

We have been experiencing some weird issues with the QMC lately.

Tasks that have been running for awhile have started to fail out out of the blue. We will go into the QMC, select the task, and hit 'Start' but nothing happens. We wait in the Tasks Screen for the Orange Refresh icon to appear in the upper right but it doesn't. If we close out of the QMC and visit the page again, the job still says failed as if we never triggered a reload.

We then go to the app itself and manually run the refresh via the Data Load Editor and it runs without any issues.

So two questions:

1. Why would tasks randomly start failing?

2. Has anyone else experienced issues with starting tasks in the QMC?

We are one the Aug 2022 of Qlik Sense Enterprise for Windows.

Hi Whit, thanks for reaching out.

Do these tasks all hit the same data source?

Note that you do not need to wait for the icon to turn orange to refresh, you can still click refresh and see if the statuses update.

Once the job fails, if you select the "i" information icon, does the timeline give any information that would help such as node it was sent to, time started, changed to, etc.?  Also, in this box you should be able to Download script log and review the individual job for details.

You mention that it succeeds in Data Load Editor, but will it also succeed if you manually start the Task via the QMC > Tasks > Start function?

We did some further troubleshooting and I think the tasks failing is due to one of our connectors. Your tip about looking into the log files is what led us there, so thank you!
