Our Qlik Sense Server keeps dropping the connection at random times. When it does we have to restart the virtual server. The network stack keeps dropping and we don't know why. The server is running but you can't even remote into it, it must be restarted.
Any ideas?
This is the only server on this Hyper V platform that is having this issue.
It is server 2012.
Any and all help would be appreciated.
Raise a ticket with qlik and check your logs. Are you getting any messages at the user end e.g. "Connection lost" etc?
no, the hub just never opens. then we try remote desktop to the server and it won't connect.
I have attempted to open a ticket with support but each time i do, it gives me an error from salesforce, saying something about my user not valid. i have sent an email to Tony Ventura who gave the ADMIN class this week and hopefully he can get someone to help us
Hi,
please check what is the network quality, if u have internal network team check with them why network dropping is occurring, if there is a network or any hardware issue then software cannot do anything. so identify this first then in parallel u can raise a ticket with Qlik also.
Sorry it took me two days to get back to you, Is your issue still present?
I would suspect a network or firewall issue rather than a Qlik issue if you cannot RDP to the server.
What is the error returned when unable to connect remotely?
Last week our network person did make a couple of changes to some settings (I have no idea what) but it has stayed up so far since then. It was probably a Windows Server 2012 issue and we weren’t familiar with all the settings. It would be nice if there were some in depth information on the Qlik server and its requirements way down at the server level settings in order for it to not shut down. It appeared to happen during reloads of big files/apps. There were no errors, one just could not load the app or remote desktop just wouldn’t connect. Traffic was just plain shutdown.

Good to hear you are up and running. Usually Qlik provides a config document for the Server being installed on, we had a comprehensive config design doc for our setup. Anyway good luck with your QlikSense discovery.
