Session Monitor not showing older than May, 2024

Session Monitor not showing older than May, 2024.

Where it gets/reads from?

From Central Log folder, all nodes log folder and/or ArchvedLogs?

Platform: Multi node Qlik Sense February 2024 P5 Windows Enterprise.

Thanks

Hi @HI6,

The Qlik Sense Session Monitor app retrieves session information from the Qlik Sense Engine service logs. The Engine service logs contain summarized details about user sessions such as session start time, duration, number of selections made, etc. However, these logs only record session details after the user session has terminated, so the Session Monitor app cannot display real-time session tracking. The app ingests the session log data through REST connectors that run under the Qlik Sense service account credentials, fetching all information that the service account has access to.

Refer to the Qlik Sense Help entry Sessions Monitor for more details.

Thanks for the explanation.

So what possibly causing, not to show data before  6th May, 2024.

We updated Qlik in the middle of May, 2024.

Also, as lots of log files piles up in ProgramData>Qlik>Log subfolder folders. Can we delete those old logs? If we delete those old logs, will it impact any of the Monitoring apps?

Thanks.

We already have those connections. The analysts are saying they cannot see any data before May, 2024. It was there few weeks ago.

What could be the possible reason?

Hi, you can try resetting the app:

A new app could be imported from ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\DefaultApps to confirm it reads the log format on the current version.

Just in case make a backup of sessionsMonitorLogContent_*.qvd files on ProgramData\Qlik\Log and remove them from this location.

Configure again the monitoring app to work with multinode, at least the changes in the 'log_folder_list' section to inlcude all nodes.
