UPGRADING QLIK SENSE MAY 2021 VERSION TO LATEST VERSION

Hi Qlik Sense Peeps,

We are planning to upgrade to the latest version. Can we have any recommendation or impact that you encountered when you tried to upgrade also? Also, maybe you can help me for my inquries below:

1. Since we have the May 2021 version, do we need to update incrementally through each patch, or can we directly install the latest version? 

2. What are the installer we need to used? Do we also need to install the patches?

3. What preparations are necessary before performing the upgrade?

4. Are there any potential impacts of upgrading from such an old version (May 2021) to the latest version?

5. For the current connection, reports and etc, it will not affect when we upgrade the version of Qlik Sense? Like the report that already publish?

1. Since we have the May 2021 version, do we need to update incrementally through each patch, or can we directly install the latest version? - You can directly go to IR of version you want to land with followed by patch upgrades.

2. What are the installer we need to used? Do we also need to install the patches? - Installers are found from Qlik site start with IR and then Patches.

3. What preparations are necessary before performing the upgrade? - Housekeeping of the environment, PostgreSQL version upgrade.

4. Are there any potential impacts of upgrading from such an old version (May 2021) to the latest version? - There were no negative impact but the settings get wiped out if any additional one are implemented.

5. For the current connection, reports and etc, it will not affect when we upgrade the version of Qlik Sense? Like the report that already publish? - No impact were seen but you need to do it in lower environment first

Additionally, for the patches do we need to one by one to patch it or we can get the latest patch only then apply?

So you need to install IR (Initial release) first of the version you are targeting and then if patch 3 is present you can install patch 3 directly which covers all the previous patch fixes.
