Upgrade remote Repository PostgreSQL previous QS Upgrade

Hi all,

We're working on update QS from september 2020 to the newest version, but we've doubts about how to deal with Repository PostgreSQL update (from 9.6 to  12.x).

Our Repository Postgres is installed on a remote server, so the QS Installation automatic postgres upgrade won't work for us.

We need to know the best way to upgrade Postgres before start our QS upgrade protocols.

Our first approach would be:

1. Install Postgres 12.x in Repository server without external access
2. Replicate databases structure from 9.6 to 12.x
3. Stop QS services in all QS nodes
4. "copy" databases from 9.6 to 12.x
5. deactivate access to 9.6 and activate access to 12.x
6. Start QS upgrade on primary node
7. At finish, start QS upgrade on secondary nodes

Is that approach accurate? or it's better to upgrade QS without Postgres 9.6 upgrade and upgrade it before QS upgrade (step 4&5 after step 7)?
