TMC - Public API - Status Explanation/Meaning

Hi All,

Hope you are all doing well.

Need your help in understanding the meaning of some of the statuses provided by the TMC public API.

https://api.us-west.cloud.talend.com/tmc/swagger/swagger-ui.html

While most are self explanatory, a couple of them are a bit confusing.

Please do correct me if some of the other explanations are wrong as well.

Doubts in Status:

deploy_failed

- What is deployed ?

- From where to where ?

- Can we still proceed with execution if the task is in deploy_failed status.

dispatching

- What is dispatched ?

- From where to where ?

- Can we still proceed with execution if the task is in dispatching status.

execution_rejected

- Under what circumstances will the task be rejected ?

- Who can reject a task execution.

Other Status:

executing - Task is currently executing

execution_successful - Task Execution was successful.

execution_failed - Task Execution has failed.

terminated - Task Execution was manually terminated.

Kindly let me know for any additional information.

Thanks in Advance.

Thank you for the immediate response.

But I am not able to co-relate the status to the status...

We have CI-CD processes deploying the tasks to TMC. The jobs have been running for sometime as well. So not sure if the deploy_failed status is the same as deploying from DEV to PRD...I maybe wrong...

Also would be nice to understand the other two status as well....

Also wanted to add that the status is available in the output of the below API call.

/executables/tasks/{taskId}/executions

i search deeper in the documentation of both tmc and api, i didn't find any explanation on the api status of task execution.

Hello,

There is a feature available in the API as Get Task Executions. You can provide the task id and get all the task execution statuses for that task id.

Please have a look at my screenshot to see if it is what you are looking for.

Hello,

We are supposing that you have already checked the online documentation: TalendHelpCenter: Talend Cloud APIs

Here is a KB article about: https://community.talend.com/s/article/Collecting-FULL-logs-from-TMC-with-the-APIs

Hope it helps

Best regards
