Introducing Tabular Reporting - Create and Distribute Operational Reports

This week Qlik Cloud customers can now address common operational report and distribution requirements with our new Tabular Reporting capabilities.

 Report developers can use an O365 Excel add-in to create custom, formatted, Excel documents from Qlik data and Qlik visualizations. Governed Report Tasks can burst these reports, delivering recipient specific data to any stakeholder, with the Qlik platform as the source for business decisions.

Hello @Michael_Tarallo ,

One question related to reporting management.

This feature is only availbale in shared space, apps in production are stored and scheduled in managed space.

So do I need to reload application in shared space to send reports ? or when app is published with reporting, report will be send from published app ?

Will this Add-On work also for QSoW / Client Managed if we've implemented OIDC?

Hi Guys - @paulcalvet  it can be scheduled separately to send reports, there is another part of this in the Reporting section in the app - to setup the Tasks to do this. 

@to759_PM - This is only for Qlik Cloud.

Hi @Michael_Tarallo, according to Product Descriptions document:

"As used above, a “Report” means a unique file generated by a Qlik Reporting Services call. Examples of how a Qlik Reporting Services call may be executed include:
(...)
• as a preview from an O365 add-in;
(..)"

Are you going to rethink this and not count preview from an O365 add-in towards monthly report generation threshold?

Is there any security related documentation on how this integrates between Qlik and MS?  I have to submit a security exception to have the plug in added to Excel and any documentation I can point our OISR team to would help.

After we choose any filter, then we can't back to option "no filter". It will be great to see "no filter" as one of the option permamently.

I made a test, I setup  a report in an application, I reload the application --> I receive the report.

I publish this app to a managed space, I reload the application --> I don't receive the report ! 😥

So if I want to use this in production, I have to :

- Modify all my automation to reload the app in the shared space and the app in the managed space.

- Be very careful in the shared space (which is a co developement area) to not launch this app if I don't want that all users receive a mail.

- In case of app in large apps space, I have to duplicate the spaces and create a shared space large apps to store this applications.

- In the case of a capacity license, this doubles data consumption because you have two applications (if you don't load apps from QVD on Qlik Cloud).

I was very excited by this new feature, but why such a limitation ? it makes things so complicated...

If yes do you have a roadmap ? it's important for us to know whether or not to use this feature.

@paulcalvet  Thank you for posting! Yes - managed space support is more than in the roadmap, it is being worked on at the moment.   The urgency is understood and prioritized appropriately.  Watch the Qlik Reporting Service forum for updates.
