I know that a similar question has been asked here but there hasn't been a satisfactory answer in my opinion.

So here it is again: Is it possible to select data from multiple map layers (which are not connected in the data model) via the lasso or the circle tool?

@pmk  no it's not possible, not in the same select operation. The lasso and the circle select operates on one layer at the time, the layer that is first interacted with.
