import new map layers for geoanalytics

I'm wondering if there is a way to import new and modern map layers or customize what is already available if not possible? For an example - I'd like to use the chart layer but would like to customize it so it's a donut chart vs a pie graph. Anything helps.

How about a point layer on top with a label in the middle? 

I used a color from the map background #DCEDE4 for the point to make it look transparent.
