Remote Engine Ports

Can you either tell me the required ports the Remote Engine will required or point me to the documentation I had a prospect ask today.  Also how configurable will the ports be, for required ports that is?  Can the change any ports required in case of conflicts?

No inbound ports will have to be opened. The Remote Engine just calls out to Talend Integration Cloud using HTTPS. Thus, if you don't block outbound communication no port  configuration is necessary.
Potentially, you will have to configure an HTTPS Proxy.

That doesn't make since, if no inbound ports are needed, how does Talend Cloud tell the Engine to run a flow on demand or get the flow specifications from the Talend Cloud?

it will be a persistent connection over HTTPS to cloud. As this is a bi-directional channel cloud can also send back to the Remote Engine once the connection is established.

Hi, we have setup a Remote Engine on an EC2 instance in AWS and it sits inside a private VPC. We want to now setup port restrictions and I'm looking for information on it. You're saying we need only 443 to be open. But in one of the threads in talend help i saw that we need to open ports 8003, 8004 and 8891 as well. Please find the link to the post

Screenshot attached as well.
Can you please help me out on this so that i can configure the ports on my EC2 instance. 0683p000009M8Lu.jpg

Hi ,
Even we're facing the same issue like what @uganesh mentioned above. When we just open 443 on our RE hosted on private subnet, jobs which got triggered from Talend management console are getting failed with error Remote engine is not available. When we open all the ports to the whole world, it works fine. And also what I understood from Talend that, you don’t have to open the ports 8003,8004,8891 on RE if you are not deploying your jobs from Studio to RE directly.
