Talend Data Integration 6. 0 missing DBType after clicking Guess Schema

Hi, I'm compelled to used TOS 6.0 installed by another company.

I've created a new project and a job loading data from MSSQL.

Using the TMSSQLInput component I've select a query from the Metadata connection and I've clicked "Guess schema".

The resulting schema is incomplete, in fact the DBType is missing for all the columns (see attached screenshot)

Any clue?

Thanks,

Max

Hello,

As far as I known, we upgrades Libraries for Ms-SQL Server - Support for MSSQL Database 2019 starting from V 8.0.1-R2022-04. That might be the reason you are not able to retrieve the table schema of MSSQL Database 2019.

Best regards

Sabrina

Hello,

Are you able to connect to MSSQL successfully and retrieve table schemas?

What's MSSQL DB version are you trying to connect? Does this issue repro on other build version? The latest talend open studio build version is 8.0.

Best regards

Hi Sabrina, I was able to connect to MSSQL and create queries in the Metadata connection. When I've tried to retrieve the table schema it run out of memory.

I'm aware of the latest available version. Unfortunately version 6.0 had been installed with the ERP and I'm not in a position to change it. I just created a new project along the existing ones.

I just wonder if it depended on the missing Talend features.

In fact I'm not able to install them due to the attached error.

Thanks,

Max

Hello,

There is not caused by missing Talend feature. We assume that there might be something wrong with compatibility. What's MSSql DB are you using and what's JDK version?

Best regards

Sabrina

Hello,

Please give us a little bit more information to address your issue.

On which talend build version you got this issue and what's MSSQL DB server version are you trying to connect?

Best regards

Sabrina

Hi Sabrina, I'm able to connect to MSSQL version 2019.

As far as the JDK version is concerned the one on the server is jdk1.8.0_171.

I've just noticed there's no class_path in the environmental variables.

Should I add it?

Thanks, Max
