Changes to theme.json have no effect

I'm trying to make changes to the default Qlik Sense theme by modifying C:\Program Files\Qlik\Sense\Client\themes\sense\theme.json

However, none of the changes makes it through and I can't figure out why.

I've tried copying the default sense folder into a mytheme folder, made the changes, then appending theme/mytheme to the URL to avoid caching.

Have also enabled No caching in Chrome.

The funny thing is, if I download the "high vis" theme, it'll work but I can't make changes to this theme either..

Any ideas?
