you cannot delete a core part of the chart its for filtering columns and rows and is inbuilt. As you have only alittle room the responsive layout has made it a little cramped

Yes you could use a simple table but you'd have to work your data a lot to mimic what is in effect a pivot table.

Something like

Dimension Year

12 measures (1 per month) using set analysis to filter on month.
