Sense Widget gives 'Access Denied' error *when sheet is Published*

Wonder if anyone can help with this...

I have an angular-based Widget (not an Extension) which works fine when the App is in my Work area... 

It works fine in a Private sheet when the App is published to a Stream....

But if I then Publish that sheet, I get a one-off Access Denied error (below). If I dismiss the error message the widget performs normally, and I won't see the error again unless I press F5 to refresh the browser.

This is on our production server, running  Qlik Sense September 2018 release.

Thanks for getting back to me.  We're about to migrate to QS September 2020, but the error also appears there.  The strange thing is that on our QAP server, it doesn't show any error. However, we've examined the security on the streams on both servers and they're identical. I'm going to
