Hi everyone,
Like many of you, I have been exploring the new Native Write Back feature in Qlik Cloud. It is a fantastic addition to the platform, but for enterprise use cases, there is one critical limitation we need to plan for: the 90-day retention limit on the change history.
If you are using this for auditing, historical tracking, or long-term data entry, losing that history isn't an option.
I just released a new video tutorial (and supporting article) demonstrating how to bridge this gap. I walk through how to extract the change history via the REST API and implement a standard Incremental Load pattern to store that data permanently in QVDs.
In this tutorial, I cover:
The mechanics of the 90-day limit.
The specific script logic to merge new inputs with historical QVDs.
How to automate this to ensure you never lose a record.

📝Get the Code: If you want to copy/paste the script directly, I’ve posted it on my blog here:

I hope this helps anyone looking to build robust, long-term Write Back solutions!
Regards,
Mark Costa
