there was a discussion from 2015 that was about the same issue I currently have. I use the extension qsVariable to change the dimension with a button. That works fine. But it is not possible to lable the x axis accordingly.
In the previous discussion it was referred to a newer version of the extension. My versions seems to be the most curent one.
