Extensions need reinstall after upgrade. Why?

Hello,

On two separate occasions we've upgraded our Qlik servers to a newer version of QlikSense Enterprise and have experienced the need to reinstall extensions. 

  • This issue primarily affects Dashboard and Visualization Bundles.
  • The extensions are NOT deprecated according to Qlik Help pages.
  • The extensions still appear on the QMC's Extensions page, however trying to export them results in an error message.
  • The extension folders appear to exist under the /Static Content/Extensions path
  • Only some of the  extensions in the Bundle are affected, not all.
  • The affected extensions are replaced with an error message in our applications.

At the very least this is annoying and time consuming. Is there an installation setting we're forgetting to enable to prevent this from happening? Are others experiencing this as well?
