Has anyone experienced browser cache issues after the Qlik Sense Enterprise May 2026 Patch updates?
I updated Patch 4 a couple of weeks ago, and then a few days later Patch 5 was released, which I also installed. After these updates, users started reporting that some random object, the Assets menu, or Import to Excel was not showing up or working. This happened with users on both Chrome and Firefox. Clearing the browser cache or using Incognito mode resolves the issue.
Things had been fine for a while, and we hadn't received any more reports until I installed Patch 6 yesterday. Now, this morning, users are again experiencing the same issues.
Is there anything we can do on the server side to prevent users from having to clear their browser cache?
I can’t test whether the Back/Forward Cache is involved in Chrome anymore, as I can no longer reproduce the issue.
The issue appeared after Patch 6 in a couple of reports I had recently been working with. On one report Excel export worked fine for most objects, but it failed for a table on one particular sheet.
Restarting the computer and refreshing the browser didn’t help. In that table, selecting Download as… > Data did nothing, and DevTools showed a 404 error for this file:
I then tried a hard refresh in Chrome on macOS using ⌘ Command + Shift + R. After that, the Excel export started working again in all the reports where I had encountered the issue.
I’ll test this again on my Windows laptop on Monday, as I experienced the same issue with some reports there and haven’t cleared the browser cache on that machine yet.
FWIW, the issue is even worse in Safari. I can access the Hub, but when I try to open any app, it just gets stuck on the loading screen, with the green progress bar moving back and forth. Everything works fine in a private browsing window.
I think I tested the Back/Forward Cache correctly, and it might not be the cause of the problem.
I tested this on a laptop that is experiencing the cache issue. In one report, the map object fails to load and displays the following error:
"Invalid visualization: The visualization failed to load. The extension was not found or caused an error: map"
