Upgrading to shared persistence...

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/June2018/Subsystems/PlanningQlikSenseDeployments/Content/Deploymen...

Reviewing the instructions - need a few questions answered.

1. Where are the qliksense postgre folders and data located.  I'm using pgadmin and need to navigate to the database in order to open it.

2. For the share drive - does it matter the location or the name ?

3. We have a single node - any steps we can ignore ?

Any local server and any name as long as Sense can access it.
You get to specify the location during install.

Postgre folder is inside Program Files\Qlik\Sense\Repository\
Data is in ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\

Some have reported problems with hidden shares.
Yes you need a share even if running single node,
you can't reference a local directory on disk directly.
Upgrading to shared persistence can be a pain with lots of things potentially going wrong.
Backup your server in advance and do as little other changes as
possible when upgrading to minimize things that can go wrong.

Yes, we're cloning the server as well as a backup but what about the share ?

The page doesn't say where to define the share or what to name to assign.

Its confusing.
