error 500 - cannot establish connection

I am really having a hard time with this error 500 internal server error. services are all started and yet it is not yet working.

Yes -  server name = host name .  So 'unqualified server name' = ' unqualified host name'

EX:   instead of using   ServerName.DomainName.Com  ,  user  ServerName for the certificates when prompted during the install.
