I am having probems with a third-party tool that manages version control and promotion between dev/test/prod environments. The tool interacts with qlik sense as a role user who requires root admin privileges. We are seeing problems where that user is denied access and getting errors about having websockets disconnected and max parallel sessions exceeded.
I suspected it has something to do with licensing. We have pro/analyzer, signed key licensing. I came across this in the "documentation"
To avoid unnecessary session consumption, the root admin should not be allocated any type of access.
What does that mean? If I do not allocate a professional license to the root admin, won't this lock that user out and cause chaos to ensue? How should I proceed?
version is April 2020 patch 3
just an FYI for anyone contemplating this action...don't. The root admin needs a pro license in order to modify properties of apps. If you do not allocate a pro license to your RootAdmin, you may also have problems accessing the qmc at all. I was able to remote desktop to the production server and fix this problem by reallocating the license, but the recommendation from Qlik (To avoid unnecessary session consumption, the root admin should not be allocated any type of access.) is as bad as it intuitively sounded...
