Always one selected value on Hidden fields

In the past this was fairly easily solvable (Qlik Sense), just unhide the field, set one selected value from the field settings, then hide it and the setting was still respected. I've noticed this is no longer working for me in Cloud, the moment I hide the field the "OSV" is simply removed and no selection is applied when opening the app.

Is there an alternative workaround? I can't use bookmarks (and defaults) with hidden fields because the selection will simply be cleared when removing all. The field is not relevant to the data model but drives app behaviour and is necessary.

HI @EmSea

That is not true. AOSV field can be still hidden and retain OVS property.

Main question is how do you publish your app? Are you by any chance removing data when publishing app or maybe using some automation or other process which maybe is doing it? OSV is a field property and by removing values from the field (or exporting app without data) you can effectively remove that property too so it depends on your process.

Thanks for the quick response Lech.

I'm a bit frustrated honestly, I'd been messing around with this for a few hours this morning before posting, I went to go take screenshots of everything I was doing and what do you know, it's working completely fine. I'd say user error somewhere but it's not exactly complicated ticking the box and then reloading with the HideSuffix enabled.. I guess I managed?

Alas, it's working, so I have nothing further to add. Marking solved and questioning sanity...
