Access to a stream via URL?

Hello,

Is there a way to give access to a stream to all users but only if they are given a URL (or something similar) to that stream? i.e. the stream is hidden, only users with the URL can access the stream.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Can you elaborate a bit on the use case?

Hi @ToniKautto, thank you for the reply. It's not so much a use case as an inquiry to see if it's possible.

Basically, for a stream, we want the stream to NOT be accessible by anyone without a given a url (e.g. company.com/examplestream-url). So the stream is otherwise hidden from everyone until a user is given the link, at which point they are able to see the stream.

Do you know if this is possible? Or maybe is there another way to go about this?

If the Qlik Sense Hub is available, then users see Stream based on their granted access.
If you for some reason hide/block access to the Hub, then naturally users would have to rely on links to navigate available resources. This might be the case if you mainly distribute content as an embedded part of other sites.

In any case the access is still controlled by the user authentication (unless you allow anonymous access) and then the authorization of what each user is allowed to consume.

I don't really understand the intention of hiding things, as it would just make it harder for people to find data they have access to.
