Adding Qlik service account to a share folder drive

Good day

If i add the Qlik service account to a share folder for me to access the data only , will that mean the entire organisation who uses Qlik sense can also access this share folder as i added the service account . I want only myself and my team to access the share folder

Hi @vvvvvvizard

By Default not everyone is able to read the data connections, only developer users with RootAdmin, ContentAdmin or SecurityAdmin roles can read them.

now, if you still need to restrict to other developers teams, your security admin needs to create a custom property and security rule as follows

and then assign the custom property to user and dataconnection

also, you need to understand that by default everything in Qlik Sense is restricted and security Rules allows access, so, this rule will affect other dataconnection

but Admins can make it to affect only your data connection with its ID

Hi @vvvvvvizard

you should create a new data connection to your folder and control the access by using a security rule and a custom property assgined to your team users and the data connection.

Hope this helps.

Hi is this security rule to be setup on the qmc which in my case is managed by the admins in the central team . Or the owner of the share folded must also setup some security rules ?
