Copying a visualization from an existing visualization belonging to different app results in wrong visualization getting copied.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
Thanks!
@DoctorPolidori what version of QlikSense?
Could you share a couple of screenshots showing the issue for us?
It happened to me recently. I’m thinking maybe it was because I tried to copy an object from our prod environment to the dev environment but I didn’t have time to investigate.
Hi David,
Thank you for your quick reply.
I cannot share data, but I can specify more on how to reproduce the behavior.
As @henrikalmen also mentioned, I was copying a visualization from our production environment to an app in our development environment. I wanted to copy a bar chart visualization. The result is that instead of a bar chart getting copied, another object (a table) got copied to the target app in development enviromment. It probably has to do with object IDs. It felt very odd.
Thank you
@DoctorPolidori and does that normally work OK for you? What version of QS?
Hi David
Yes it normally works for us.
Version is
Qulik Sense Enterprinse on Windows (on Prem)

Thank you

Qlik sense Enterprise for Windows

included 2 screen dumps
Thank you
@DoctorPolidori This cleanly states that you don't have full data model migrated from 1 app to another app.
Whatever shows as invalid dimension, please make sure that is available in your destination application data model.
The issue in this case is that Qlik is not copying the visual I did Control-C, it is copying another visual instead. It can happen with identical apps.
