Creating a variable

Hello, I am trying to create a variable the sums the field [Turn Around Time].  See the picture below, when i create the variable called TurnAroundTime as sum([Turn Around Time]) i get the total for everything on each line, as opposed to the individual total.  Does anyone know how to get the individual total whenever i am trying to use a variable for this?  I want to make a variable, i know there are other ways to accomplish this as evidenced by my 2nd column there, but i want to make this work with a variable.  Thank you!
