Deletion of big Capability Service Logs

Hi all,

I am getting warnings from my Qlik Sense QMC Host that the C:/ drive is almost full.

Reason for that are two Log files from the Qlik Sense Capability Service. The are located here: C:/ProgramData/Qlik/Sense/Log/CapabilityService

One log file is 12 GB big and the other one 25 GB. Can I just delete them or can this be a problem for Qlik Sense to keep running smoothly? What is this service for? We are running Qlik Sense Enterprise September 2020.

Regards

Julian

Hello @SaturnV, there is no official way from QMC to achieve so but you can maybe refer to this article: https://support.qlik.com/articles/Basic/How-To-Reduce-Log-Folder-Size-Over-Time and create your own batch file to automatically delete any log file. Hope it helps 🙂

Well i share 3 things at this moment

1. The link shared above does not work more.

2. The logs on C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Logs has a log rotation according the rules (size, time and restart services). I understand the logs respect the rules.

3. The only log grow without control is Capability Service. The folder dir is C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log\CapabilityService. Well I found some information about this, in the link bellow

Configure log level in Capability Service
Jira issue ID: QB-1031
Description: The logging level in the Capability Service in Qlik Sense Enterprise can now be configured in the
services.conf file with a --log-level parameter.
The parameter can be one of [info(default) | warning | error | off]

I change log-level to off because why i need this?

The options works on Nov-2019 P16 or later.
