Empty Qlik Sense Desktop hub

Since today, I can't see any of my apps in the Qlik Sense Desktop hub. I have verified that they are still in C:\Users\user\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Apps, however the hub comes up empty.

I have authenticated myself using the QSD branch unlock file.

In the Google Chrome developer tools I'm seeing the following messages:

========= Info =========
content.bundle.js:1 Content script started
content.bundle.js:1 ObjectconnectionData: null__proto__: Object
content.bundle.js:1

After a lot of trial and error, I found that McAfee antivirus was blocking Qlik Sense Desktop. I hadn't thought of that possibility because it's not like I installed the antivirus recently, but I wonder if it might have updated overnight and therefore started blocking Qlik Sense Desktop today.

I disabled it and Qlik Sense Desktop is working again. I'll check how to make an exception for QSD so I don't have to disable McAfee entirely.

@morenoju is the Hub showing your proper ID when it comes up empty or no?  If that is not there either, it would almost seem there may be something going on with the scripts not running properly, one easy thing to try in that case is to clear the browser cache to see if that might clear the issue.  May also want to check your Proxy logs to see if anything is appearing in them to provide any further clues too.  Sorry I do not have more, but hopefully it gives you something to work with for a bit.

Regards,
Brett

Hi @Brett_Bleess , I'm right now in the middle of a repair of the Qlik Sense installation in case something went wrong last time I closed it (I had a network issue yesterday evening). If it doesn't work I'll try your suggestion about the cache and the proxy logs.

Thanks.

@morenoju sounds like you have a good plan of attack, just shout back either way, even if the issue turns out to be with the install hiccupping, posting that may help someone else, and once you post that, you can use the Accept as Solution button on that post to close out the thread too.  Hopefully the reinstall works, if you did have a snag yesterday, I suspect you may be on the right track here.

Cheers,
Brett

Thanks @Brett_Bleess , however, the repair didn't help and neither cleaning the cache. In System_Engine_2020-10-28.log, in the C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Programs\Qlik\Sense\Qlik\Sense\Log\Engine folder I've seen:

INFO 20201028T103950.337-0400 6852 11564 Internal\Engine default 0 20201028T103943.000-0400 Mount: Found Mount at location Qlik\Sense\Apps browsable

I don't know if this generic "Personal\Me" user is part of the issue.

Would you know the location of those proxy logs you mentioned so I check it too?

@morenoju ok, yeah, if Personal\Me is not your domain\user, then I would say you have found the issue, things are not being passed back from the proxy it would appear regarding your credentials.  I think I found the right Help Doc regarding troubleshooting the Proxy:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-admin/September2020/Subsystems/DeployAdministerQSE/Content/Sense_D...

Have a look through that and see if you can find things with that.  If you get some further log entries that do not make sense, shout back with them, and I can see if I can make anything out of them.  Everything you just posted is Info though, so no errors/warnings, which should mean things are not seeing an issue for some reason, but yet if that user is not matching who you are, I am not sure what is pushing that back...  That is likely what you want to try to track down.

Brett

I think the Proxy documentation may not apply to this case because I'm using Qlik Sense Desktop instead of Qlik Sense Enterprise.

Regarding the errors, in the System Engine log I found:

ERROR 20201028T105701.779-0400 19316 9308 Internal\Engine default 0 20201028T105659.000-0400 RestClient: HTTP request for url /migrate/ping failed with error code 12029 (source: 5)

I'm looking for references in the Qlik Community and Qlik Documentation but if I can't find anything useful I may try a full re-install...
