Correct me if I'm wrong. Looks like you're requirement is quite based on the front end section of excluding "Y" values and display remaining values, when the user select "Y" value.
Possibly, can add a field event trigger of "Y" of "On select event -->select excluded".
or Can also be done by creating variable and applying similar trigger in action.
It'd be great if you can provide the workbook and requirement in Images.
