Gauge chart in QlikSense

I'm trying to get a Gauge chart to work and I'm not finding many example instructions on QlikSense on this topic.  Can you offer any options on how to approach using this if you want to add measures?

Hi Peggy,

You can try an extension I just created a few days ago. I would love to hear your feedback.

You'll find the extension here. Just drop this folder into ~/Documents/Qlik/Sense/Extensions to install the extension.

Hi Peggy,

Just drop a single measure on to the gauge chart and this will show you the measure as a gauge. Change the lower and the upper limits in the properties panel. Also you can colour code the range with multiple colours.

Thanks,

Sangram.

Fady,

The extension works great but honestly I wouldn't use this.  I don't think this improves upon the gauge chart already in Qlik Sense.  It also won't export to PDF because it's an extension, whereas the stock gauge will export. Gauges are also kind of shunned now in the data visualization design world. They're too busy and take up too much space on the page.  Just some feedback for you, hope it helps you in your future extension building.

I can see your point, I initially wrote it for someone who needed more of a speedometer-looking gauge over the native gauge. Really appreciate the feedback!

Much thanks,

Totally agree with Michael, its always better to go with the standard objects and also, using gauges is not a good practice.
