How to define the location of the file to be stored using QS?

Hi !

I have some experience with QV and I struggle with the simple task to define the proper folder for my first QS file. QS Desktop stores it by default in some users-folder (which is IMO pretty weird) and I do not find any menue, button etc to change that.

So where do I find the menu to chose the location in which I store my qvf file?

Thanks,

Andreas

The desktop version puts the qvf in

C:\Users\username\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Apps

If you have the server version they are stored in

C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Apps

You can change this location in the QMC Engine - Apps tab.

I think that there is a config file on the Desktop version that you can update to change the location.  But I can't remember where it is.

Thanks Mark,

I am using the desktop version.

What is your strategy if you create a more complex file folder structure when you go from source data to presentation apps? In QV people easily create a tree of file folders and use variables to navigate in the script to the various locations.

BTW, I found an engine API Explorer but there is no direct way to define the location of folders.

you dont have a option to change the location of QVF on creation, but after creation you can move the file from that location to the desired location, for launching that just drag and drop into Qliksense Desktop.
