How to make a 12 month yearly comparison dimension

I am trying to make a yearly comparison of spending broken out by month, but I want the year and the month to be formulated into the same formula so it will free me up to make more complicated measures. Does anyone know how to do this? Below is the chart I have and how I want it to work, but I want the two dimensions to merge and still show the same values

Grouped by month, bars should represent years (combine this into one)

Maybe you can be helped/inspired by Patric Nordström's LinkedIn post from December. He is using line charts, but you could use the same techniques in a bar chart

@Vegar

That is a great formula for changing the overall view of names, but I need them combined. So with the yearly comparison, I want to break out the monthly spending by 2 statuses (basically multiple dimensions and multiple measures which I know is not possible). That is why I am trying to summarize the dimension formula for the yearly comparison so I can break out the monthly spending by status.

Overall I am looking for one formula for dimension to allow me to put multiple measures.

I'm not sure about what  you are trying to do. You want the values of both/all years to be represented on a single bar? What about creating a stacked bar chart with one section/segment per year?

I want each month next to each other. For ex:  I want jan 2021 and jan 2022 right next to each other, moving all the way to December 2020 and December 2021.

I am trying to combine into one formula so I can add more details on the measures. Basically exactly how I have it in the bar chart but I want to break out the bars by status (which is not possible to do if the dimension has multiple fields)
